Merry Christmas!!

"I'm dreaming of a white christmas . . ."
eeekkkk . . . . , stop!
(trying to type the sound of the record player scratching to a stop here)

We have no snow in Hawaii but we do have:

double rainbows!

Just took these pictures the other day outside my office window. It's been raining a lot and very windy. We have lots of rainbows but it is the first time I took a picture of one! The first rainbow was so brilliant that it created the double.

As I look at these pictures, the Hawaiian Lullaby Song by Bradda Iz goes through my head:

Where I live, there are rainbows
With life in the laughter of morning and starry nights

Where I live, there are rainbows
And flowers full of colors and birds filled with song

I can smile when it’s raining
And touch the warmth of the sun
I hear children laughing in this place that I love

Merry Christmas!
May you have a wonderful day with family and loved ones.

Fish Club Cards

Here's a new one -- My parents belong to an aquarium fish club and for their holiday party, grab bags had to be "fish" related.

So I made a dozen fish cards along with Gold fish crackers, of course! I believe this die is an Archivers Quickutz die.

Notecard Teacher gift

Happy Holidays! It's been a long time! I've got lots of crafts to show you but I think I'll post them slowly to spread the season (because it's going by way too fast!!). So I'm all done with the craft fairs and now just getting my own shopping done.

For today, I'm sharing what I did for my kids' teachers. They are notebook cards that you quickly print, personalize and embellish. Someone shared this with me many months ago and I've kept the link knowing it will make great teacher gifts. (I'm sorry that I'm posting this too late since most schools are already on holiday break).

Here's the link to the original idea by Alicia. L-O-V-E I-T!! Please also check out her pinterest. She has WONDERFUL, absolutely wonderful ideas!! I didn't have to change a thing, other than I should have taken a little time to make sure my cutting was not off (see the extra white space on the bottom of this card?). Oh well, next time I'll be a little careful but other than that, I was able to finish these 30 cards in 2 hours (office lunch hours). Not bad, huh! I reused those plastic acrylic boxes that holds SU stamps. Place 10 cards and envelopes, a Starbucks gift card and handmade tags. BTW, the envelopes didn't fit in the box so they were placed on the bottom of the box and tied all together with ribbon.

As a side note, thank you to all who asked. I had a successful craft fair season and sold all the boards. The most popular, you ask? Hello Kitty, of course!! But I can't post pictures of that until Colleen opens her Christmas present (LOL!!! Hi, Colleen)!!

Happy Shopping!!!

Monkey business

So, wanna see monkeys?

Here you go. I tried to make him look like Curious George. I only created one to test the reaction but it was the first one to sell so I created several more.

I think I finally figured out how to take pictures of these boards. Here he is up close!

Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate your comments!!

Sweet as a Cupcake --

Betcha been wondering what I've been up to! Well, I've been busy creating this magnetic, dry erase boards for the craft fairs. Here's a cupcake one. I'm so sorry about the terrible picture. The boards are just gorgeous in person! I just can't seem to take a good one without either the flash showing or my outline! The board is glossy that reflects. Each piece pierced individually together and dimensional using foamies and paper. So far I've created 4 designs. Here is just one. They are so fun to make, just like creating a layout!! My sister personalizes names on them by request so that's why there are lots of white space on the bottom. Back to creating more! Right now I'm working on monkeys . . .

All Ready To Go

Here are my pocket book calendars, all ready to go. There are approx. 48 here.

Simple designs using my Bella stamps, puny sayings, paper flowers, and a single brad.

I think I have at least 6 different types of designs,

all using scraps from past classes! The pens are from Ben Franklin, covered with matching paper. BTW, these pens work really well! Can't beat the price at 4/$1 (I think that is how much I picked them up for).

Thank you for stopping by!

Little Toy Soldiers

Yesterday I was at Kapiolani College craft fair and picked up this adorable SS Toy Solder dangle beaded earrings for just $20. Aren't they adorable? Some people are just soooo talented!!

Lady Bug Layered Accents by K& Co

I cut these kraft tags, 2x2 and 3x3 cards from the leftover scraps from my coin envelope class.

Stamp grass and flower stems in green ink.

BFF Sherri gave me these cute K & Co layered elements.

Add the critters to the tags and cards

Add pen stitching in black and white ink.

Add some blings and glitter glue

All done! At least 15 of them completed in less than 30 minutes!!

A Greater Appreciation!

My friends are always teasing me about how my supplies have to "age" before I use it for my personal use. It is true, I admit! It's not because I prefer it that way, rather I don't have the time just to play and experiment at my own leisure. This is Hope. I have had her for two years, it's the first time I've used her and Greeting Farms has discontinued her!

Anyway, I decided to finally use her and discover what the hype is about Copic Pens (which, every one of you reading this has probably been using them for years already! (Again, showing my preference for aging!!) Ok, well, I had a little time to play, borrowed some pens from BFF Sherri and started to work.

I now have a greater appreciation for all of you lovers of Copic pens and cutesy images!!! It took me a while to get Hope to where I was happy.

So when you receive a hand colored image card like this and all those that you see all over the internet, it is an expression of love; time, effort and money spent on creating a beautiful handmade card to brighten someone's life.

Copic and cutesy stamp users ... YOU ARE DA BOMB!!!

PS: A special thank you to GF Colleen, for the beautiful sentiment stamp :o)
