50 . . . Can you say Fabulous?

Tomorrow we are attending my cousin's 50th birthday party!!
How quickly time flies!
Here's fun card I just completed.  The pretty lady is both embossed and glittered,
although you can't really tell from the photo.
It's not too detailed and looks, a little Arte Nouveau, don'tcha think?!

Year of Cards - Floral and Masculine - Sneak Peek #4

I frequently get asked whether I do repeat classes.
I don't.  I don't know why but maybe I should than perhaps it wouldn't be so hard to some up with something new!  Hey, I'd be quicker with the samples!

Take these two masculine cards, for example.  I taught how to do them two years ago.  They are still my favorite masculine designs, and we will be making them in class this Wednesday (tomorrow).

Here is the first sneak peak for the Floral & Masculine Cards class scheduled for this coming Wednesday, April 25 from 6:30p to 8:30p at A Place in Time

When laid flat, this oval card fits perfectly in an A-2 size envelope.

I created these cute little gift card holder bags for a Stamping Up swap as well as did a make-in-take for a Ladies's Night Crop last week..
I had a lot of vellum on hand, so I thought I would use it.  The vellum was stamped with SU Going Green stamp set using the Classic SU ink pads (hey, they dried quickly and did not smear!!).  Then I ran the vellum through the embossing folder.  IRL, the vellum took on a pretty sheen when embossed.

For these bags I also punched a vellum flower to decorate the bags along with card stock flower punchies and inserted a tiny pearl.  The strap of the bag (SU Label punch) closes with Velcro tabs.  The flat eyelets were leftovers from the Celebrations card class.  Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the bag.
However, a gift card sits very nicely inside.

Tea Card for Anne

Now that my April Tea Swap partner has received her card from me, I can finally show it to you:

This card went all the way to Anne in Denmark. (Imagine that!!) Stop by and visit her blog called HotchPotch Ehhh??

I used my new dies and stamps from Papertrey, Memory Box Diecut, wire, flower punch and liquid pearls.

Here is a picture of the inside. When you open the card, the tea bags lifts out. (Learned this technique from Dori -- thank you!!!)

I forgot to tell Anne that the teapot diecut on the left is for her to use.

Open call for May's Tea swap will go out in a couple of weeks. I'll post Anne's card to me at that time. If you want to join our little tea swap group, visit us again and watch for the open call.

Finally, I want to thank my students who took the Ningyogami class last night. It was fun and I hope they enjoyed themselves. I know Bill at A Place In Time took some pictures so visit the APT blog. The class created beautiful cards!!

Tango no Sekku Sneak Peek #4 - Ningoyami Class

Tango no Sekku or Boys’ Day is celebrated on the 5th day of the fifth month. This little boy is symbolic of the day with his carp-shaped koinobori flags (carp because of the Chinese legend that a carp that swims upstream becomes a dragon, and the way the flags blow in the wind looks like they are swimming).

This is the last sneak peek of my Ningyogami class scheduled for next week Wednesday (April 4). I understand the class is now full.

I've received interest in online classes. Yes, I do online classes using either PDF instructions or online video instruction. Please note that some classes can not be done online based on the products used.

If you are interested in taking my online class, please email me directly at scrapnhawaii@hotmail.com for specific instructions and what is required. I appreciate and thank you for your interest!!!

To those that commented on the sneak peeks, thank you for your comments, I enjoy reading them!!

Sneak peek 3 - Ningyogami Class

Here is my mature Ningoyama female doll. I love the bamboo stencil on the side of her. The stencil actually includes an asian house on the left but I blocked it out.

Sneak Peek - Ningyogami class

For the past couple of weeks, I've been having a hard time staying focused on scrapbooking, crafts, and classes. I think it is the pressure of "having to come up with something" and having to do it in a short time frame. Add in a full time job, family time, family events, cold season, staying up late and you get the picture!! :o)

Here is a sneak peek at the next class scheduled for April 11. We are going to be making Ningyogami (Japanese paper dolls) on simple card bases using asian stencils by A Place in Time. They are fun, quick (after some practice) and are simply adorable:

Supplies to bring: pen glue, double stick tape, scissors, japanese hole punch (if you have), corner rounder, dark brown or black pen, Liquid Pearls: Rouge, Petal Pink and Buttercup or Gold.
