Tea and 3x3 Swaps

Hi, there!  I'm popping in to let you know our monthly Tea Swap and 3x3 Swap are still ongoing if you wish to join us.

Here are 3x3 cards I made for my swap partner, Sherri, in May.  I used the Polynesian Paradise Stamp Set by MFT and Copics.

The Tea swap entails mailing a handmade card and two tea bags to a partner and you will receive the same.  For the 3x3 Swap, create two 3x3 cards (envelope optional) and mail to your partner.  You will get the same.

This month's optional theme is Hello, Sunshine
Swaps must be mailed by August 31st and the deadline to sign up is August 13, 2020.  Email me today if you wish to join the swap and send me this information:
  • Which swap do you wish to participate in (Tea, 3x3, or both)?
  • Name and Mailing Address:
  • Email address:
  • Birth date (month and day only):
  • Favorite color:
  • Likes/dislikes/allergies (re tea type):
  • Is loose tea okay to send to you? Y/N:
  • A short introduction about yourself and your interests:
  • Blog (if any):
  • Would you be willing to swap international or U.S. only:
Your partner's information will be sent to you by August 17.

Responsible swappers only, please!

3x3 thank you

Little 3 x 3 thank you notes. Stamp used Taylored Expressions Laurels (Set of 11). When sending little notes of gratitude, I like to add a little something back to the Giver.

Here, I added four USPS Forever Postage Stamps. In addition, I usually write my message of thanks on a post-it note on the right side of the card so that the receiver can use the card again.

Thank you for stopping by!

Washi tape card (3x3)

To date, this has got to be my favorite card design using washi tape: Cover a square with washi tape. Add dimentional tape to pop it up. Add small heart punches to the back on the top of your square to represent a bow at the top of the square and you have a gift box card! Add a sentiment and you are done. This design is on a 3 x 3 card. Quick, easy and cute!!

A tea-rific birthday!

This is my third gift this year of a tea cup and saucer filled with a goumet Neopolitan cupcake. The 3x3 card made from SU's Elements of Style stamp set was embossed in gold. A Perfect match!

Bringing the new year in with scrap cards

Bringing in the new year with my personal favorite - scrap cards.  I made a cute little Bazzill mini album with their assorted shapped borders and pleated borders.   The borders were so cute.  I just couldn't throw them away even though I just had about 3-4 inches of it.   Light bulb moment!  A 3x3 card.  This took about 5 seconds to throw together and I thought came out adorable.  Cardstock, shaped border, pleated border - Bazzill, leather flower (very old-I think Making Memories) and the polka dot brad is old also (in my stash).

Enjoy and Happy New Year!   Karen

A touch of sunshine

Kraft paper and yellow daisies go so well together!!  I have always loved creating these little daisies with a daisy paper punch, circle punch, and fern leaf punch.  A little cutting here, a little snipping there.  Finished off with a bling and bow.

Life . . .

I couldn't wait to show you another Ai stamp!  As soon as I saw AI's "Life...Bling It On", I had to have it!!!

BTW, the pattern paper on this card is actually Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections, the same paper as I did on this album.  The only difference is I colored it with Copics.

The inside . . .  It's a pull up card.  As soon as you open the card, the surprise gift is shows.

Another card, this one a mini

The inside of the card with Basic Grey Bling it on Rubons and crystals in brown.

Another mini card set

and the inside using the Black Basic Grey rubons/crystals.
Thank you for stopping by!!

For the past couple of weeks I've had lots going on.

Lady Bug Layered Accents by K& Co

I cut these kraft tags, 2x2 and 3x3 cards from the leftover scraps from my coin envelope class.

Stamp grass and flower stems in green ink.

BFF Sherri gave me these cute K & Co layered elements.

Add the critters to the tags and cards

Add pen stitching in black and white ink.

Add some blings and glitter glue

All done! At least 15 of them completed in less than 30 minutes!!

Birthday - slide mounts

Here's another 3 x 3 using slide mounts. The cupcakes are left over stickers from a layout I did years ago. There were just two left (so glad I finally used it up!!!). The paper for the slides was in my scrap bin; and the birthday rubons are from a time when I was a TLC Consultant. Wow, these came together so fast!!

Frame it with slide mounts

Found a bunch of slide mounts in my stash the other day. At one time they were very popular on scrapbook pages (remember shaker box embellishments?). Then everyone was getting rid of them so I picked up about 20 or so almost free. Figure I might as well use them so here's what I came up with. 3 x3 cards. If I need a quick card for a thank you, all I have to do is stamp "Thank You" on the frame. For birthday, I'll stamp "Happy Birthday" on the frame. Very versatile, don'tcha think?

The Coin Envelope - a class

I'm excited to finally showcase The Coin Envelope Template, new at A Place in Time! My class projects will be up at the store tomorrow. Here's a sneak peak!

Here's a front example

Open it up and write your sentiments. Open the flat and there's a gift card.

Another sample that is only a pocket gift card (or card) pocket.

This coin envelope will hold a gift card perfectly and can be manipulated to be either a gift card holder or just a gift card pocket. See the other samples up at A Place in Time!

Class is Thursday, September 8, 6:30p to 8:30p, $20. Supplies to bring: Paper trimmer, scissors, tape and glue adhesive, pencil, Scor-Pal or bone folder, Glossy Accents, Crop a Dile.

Hope to see you there!

Fun Puns - 3 x 3 cards

I had some time to play with some rubons for A Place In Time.

This once is so reminiscent of Hawaii :o)

I used rubons from Imaginisce Splash Dance Fantastic Friends,
paired with scraps I had lying around.

Thought they would make cute fun pun 3 x 3 cards.
For this crab, I was going to put, "Crabby, eh?"

And the inside of this one says "Inking Of You".

May All YOUR jellyfishes come true!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Christmas tags in July

My crafting desk is a mess! Trying to clear the desk to create samples for the Sympathy Card class and decided to create something with these little 6" x 4" scraps of white paper.

Christmas is right around the corner so start creating now! (Yea right, can we find the time??!!)

The stamp is from Hero Arts Celebrate Simple Joy. I love the "quirkiness" of the tree. The paper is by Basic Grey. I've been looking for these tiny gold star brads for a while and use them a lot during the holidays. I finally found some on E-bay. These are 3 x 3 tags.
