Here are little retire-mint boxes I create as a favor for a friend's retirement luncheon. Easy to make, no dies required :o) I created one like this for my boss several years ago. Check it out here. It also makes a great gift card holder!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!!

It's Mother's Day and today I'm going to tea with my mom, aunt, sister and niece!

Can't have a tea party without little gifts! I decided to make them purple since it is my mom and sister's favorite color.

The little hats I had seen on Pinterest a couple of times.  They are made using the 1 oz and 2 oz Portion cups which are on sale at Ben Franklin Crafts this week!  I filled the cups with crispy M&Ms.

The little clutch bags are popup gift cards which I created at the spur of the moment.  The green bow and label were placed on clear bags which I cut the sides off and adhered it to fit around the bag.  For my niece, I put two Hello Kitty Magnets where normally a gift card will be placed.

For my aunt and sister, I added some postage which I know they will always use.  Mom got something else in hers.

Happy Mother's Day!  Celebrate YOU!!

Christmas Gift Cards and Tags #2

Wow, my life is pretty busy right now but I wanted to show you a couple more projects we will be making in class this Saturday:

Here is a picture of one of the gift card holders which looks like a present. When you open up the gift card holder, the gift card slides up. We will be using some heavy weight paper here which makes your project look so professional!

The other item is an ornament tag using this pretty ribbon I recently picked up. Hopefully I'll have time to post another gift card holder so stay tuned!

Thank you for stopping by!

Tea bag holder - A Class

Let's make a tea bag holder for class this coming Saturday!

I think this will be a fun class. One of the projects we will create is this tea bag holder. We will also create a couple of matching cards but you will have to check back as I will be posting them during the week.

There are no magnets or velcro to close it together, just some strategically placed brads and embellishments. The holder will not only hold 3 tea bags but you can also use it to hold gift cards, bills or small candy bars like Ghirardelli chocolates.

A picture of the inside of the holder.

The tea bag holder measures 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Here are pictures of two other holders I recently made.

A beautiful blue and yellow one that went to Texas for my tea partner, Karen. Side view:

And another sweet pink that went to Kalihi for my tea partner, Brenda:

A picture of the inside:

Just for fun, here are the matching cards that was sent with each tea bag holder:

For the Yellow Rose of Texas!!  So appropriate for my Texan friend, Karen, don't you think?

And for Brenda who is a real life sweet heart!

We will also be creating some matching cards in class which is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2015.  Cost is $23 and will be held at A Place in Time in Kailua.  Please email me to reserve your space or call Bill.

Supplies to bring to class include:  scissors, paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive (glue and tape), piercing tool, scoring tool that will score in 1/8" measurements; corner rounder, black ink pen to create pen stitching (I used .5mm); black ink pad, and a scallop border punch, if you have one.  Please also bring the Envelope Maker from We R Memory Keepers if you have one.

Omiyage Gifts from the Tea Party

And now to show you the adorable, handcrafted gifts made by the talented ladies at the tea party last weekend:
First off, two gifts from Bren:  A tiny explosion box holding a little porcelain dish (sugar cup?); and a calendar album holding tea bags in each pocket as well as two spoons of Sympatea:
The adorable kokeshi doll calendar images were printed from http://creativemamma.com/free-printables/.  Check it out!!! L-o-v-e It!!!

Dori made two boxes from the WeRMemories Envelope punch filled with eye candy bling, lemon and lime bars from The Cookie Company and Big Island chocolate dipped cookie bars and a handful of kisses!!
BTW, the very next day I picked up the Envelope Punch at J's KnickKnacks!
Gail made this pink and silver gift bag which she used the Papertrey Favor-it Box 4 Die.  In it she places some tea bags and peppermint candy.  The back of the bag had a poem to join her for tea on New Years Day! It's soo pretty!!
In celebration of the Chinese Year of the Horse, Mel created this beautiful Lantern and tea holder.  She also gave us Zig Wink of Stella Brush.  We had lots of fun playing with it.
I wish I could show you the work involved in creating the Chinese lantern.  It's GORGEOUS!!  I'm still uncertain how she created it.

Finally, we each got this cute little Hawaiian Favor from Byron who did not attend:
We all gushed over it.  So cute, huh!!! Thanks, By!!  Here is what it looks like without the topper:
Thank you to my wonderful tea friends for a fun afternoon!!

Bosses' Day

Bosses' Day was this past Tuesday.  Monday I ran all over town looking for gifts.  10 p.m. that evening I was creating something to dress up the gifts I purchased.  This is what I came up with:

For the female bosses, I found oversized relaxing tea bags for the bathtub designed to "soothe the stress away", stain remover pocket packets to put in your purse and hand sanitizer pocket packets in fun scents of:  Peppermint, lemon and lavender.

All fit in these little gift bags made out of romantic In My Minds Eye paper.

The male boss was much more difficult!!
The white shirt and tie is actually a gift bag to hold various chocolate ball candies I picked up at Wholesale foods.  The brief case?
It's actually a gift card holder!  (No, the American Express card is only a prop) :o)  I finished packaging everything about 11:30p.  The problem was that after I finished, my mind was still running overtime I had a hard time sleeping!  UGH!!  Do you get like that?  Crafting keeps you wide awake and coming back down from the high takes forever!!

Basic Grey Gift Cards

Still cleaning out my house looking for things we don't use anymore.  Actually, it is more like a LONG leisurely looking for stuffs.  LOL!!  Many things I took out to get rid of but put them back.  Mmmm . . . not time to get rid of yet.  But hey, I'm finally getting rid of the baby towels and blankets, even though the "baby" is over 5 years old!!!

Found lots of scraps from leftover classes of the past.

Here is a design I did for a class in May.  I still love it!  It looks so elegant!

It's a gift card holder.

Another picture of the inside.

I'm also getting ready for craft season, the first one will be the first week in November.
These cards will go in the box for sell.

Happy Thursday!

Prototype library pocket/gift card holder

I wish I took a picture of this unfinished.  If I am not sure how something will turn out I will create it on whatever paper is laying around.

This WAS a prototype of the pocket card/gift card holder class I taught earlier this month.

I mean it was really plain with no embellishments or anything, just the guts!
Here is the one I taught in class.

You can see the resemblance. I was going to throw it away but decided it was still useable :o)
I added all the embellishments and handstitching

 Which one do you prefer?
