Reverse Scallop Corner - Sympathy card

I miss teaching at APT and my faithful students.
So I decided to create a quick tutorial

Here's the card.

I used this stamp by Stampin' Up.

Here are the base cardstocks and sizes you will need.
Score the 4 1/2" x 11" at the 5 1/2" line.
Add a 1" x 5 1/2" cardstock strip right in the middle of your card base:

As another option, you can add a silk ribbon instead of the cardstock by creating a slit at the top of the card and sliding the ribbon through:

Tape the ends of the ribbon as shown here:

Stamp your sentiment and your image. I heat embossed the fern.

Place your image right over the mat, matching one corner.
Take a scallop scissors and cut through both cardstock one hump of the scallop.

Like so:

Next align another corner of your image with the matching corner of your cardstock and again cut one hump of the scallop.

Cut all four corners and then center and glue your image onto the mat. Add pop dots in back of the mat and adhere to the base card over the 1" strip or ribbon.

Finish off the inside with a sentiment and image.  Lastly, add 3 bling around your image.  You just GOTTA add bling!!  . . . and you are all done!!

Goodie box for friends

Last month I went to tea with some friends: Brenda, Colleen, Robyn, and Dori. We exchanged little gifts to each other. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the other gifts they made. (I can't believe it! Life got carried away). Anyway, here are the little gifts I made for them:

I used Sizzix Box 2 as a base and stuffed it with goodies.
Open the little tea cover and there are Hello Kitty treats.

Here's another one in a different color combination.
Cover opened.  I included Hello Kitty Chocolates, tea bags, rhinestones, M&Ms and a hand sanitizer.

The little box was created using the Matchbox Die and holds my favorite tea of the moment, loose tea from Lupicia. Tea Stamp and Diecut by Papertrey.

I had a wonderful time with my 3 friends, esp. GF Colleen from California. Now to send them photos of them wearing their tea hats!! LOL!! What fun!!!

A Place in Time

Today A Place in Time closed its doors to its present location. It was a very sad day for all of us!! I taught classes there for almost 5 years! Priscilla and Bill will still be operating their laser services elsewhere.

Priscilla and I are in discussion for future classes. Once things are finalized, I will post it here and Priscilla will post it on their blog here.

Us, You and Me

I've just been enjoying some quiet time before the crazy season. Here is a scraplift layout from the talented Kelly Gorlee (I love her style!). I used scraps from Basic Grey Little Black Dress--leftover from the several classes I had using this beautiful line.  Sorry about the photo.  When I updated the scanner software it no longer worked so now I gottta figure out what to do...toss out the printer or fix the software...

Basic Grey Gift Cards

Still cleaning out my house looking for things we don't use anymore.  Actually, it is more like a LONG leisurely looking for stuffs.  LOL!!  Many things I took out to get rid of but put them back.  Mmmm . . . not time to get rid of yet.  But hey, I'm finally getting rid of the baby towels and blankets, even though the "baby" is over 5 years old!!!

Found lots of scraps from leftover classes of the past.

Here is a design I did for a class in May.  I still love it!  It looks so elegant!

It's a gift card holder.

Another picture of the inside.

I'm also getting ready for craft season, the first one will be the first week in November.
These cards will go in the box for sell.

Happy Thursday!

A little Sunshine

Hope, The Greeting Farm by scrapnhawaii

Did you check out the sale at A Place in Time?  I did.  I purchased a lot of Copic pens there (can't beat the price!!).  Since I bought so many, I thought I would use them today to create a little Sunshine card.  This is Hope from The Greeting Farm.  I got it YEARS ago when I first met ManLe (from Pineapple Cove).  MME Honey Cake Paper from GF Colleen (you are the best!).

The inside of the card.

I have a couple of card kits I hope to complete this weekend.  So if you ordered them from me, I am sorry for the delay.  Thank you for being so patient!

Ningyogami: Another View

I am revisiting Ningyogami from another view... The rear! Lol! Here is my first prototype.

The Sakura template is by APT. Some of the beautiful washi papers are from Cassie (thank you!!). Mmmmm, I need to make some proportion adjustments.

Fruit pun tea swap

I am on a hiatus waiting for my mojo to come back and enjoying the quiet time before the crazy craft fair season starts. Please visit A Place in Time for some fantastic savings! It's the only place to get their signature Hawaiian stencils and stamps!

This card is going to Mary in MA. She is my partner for the fruit pun swap this month. I used Martha Stewart apple punch (I love this apple shape!), Nesti Label 1 die, the computer for the sentiment, gorgeous paper I got from Colleen called Honey Cake by MME, Tim Holtz' border die Vintage Lace, and Liquid Pearls.

Here is the tea bag holder. Apple flavored tea is the perfect complement.

I've been cleaning out my house and the craft area getting ready for two garage sales. Stay tuned for some great deals on gently used and new crafting supplies!!
