Hip to be Square

I am at a loss as to what the black and white shape is . . .  Zigzag???
LOL, that doesn't sound right.  I KNOW it is called something else!!
A name totally not like zigzag!!

Anyway, it will come to me later but we are creating this mod card using your square paper punch!
Think of all the cool colors you could use when creating this card again!!

Tea Party at the Monarch Room

Last month some of the Honolulu tea swappers and I had high tea at the Monarch Room at Ward Warehouse.

Colleen with the Hawaiian monarchs along one side of the wall.

Here is Brenda wearing her appropriate tea blouse:
and a picture of our petite food platter:

Of course, a tea party would not be complete without a few omiyage gifts:

Goodies hand created by Dori

Little Kitty scrap pad and Tea card box filled with handmade cards by Robyn

Customized Tea Party Mousepad and Hawaiian Tea by Brenda

So many goodies created by Colleen along with Washi Pens and this beautiful . . .

Tea pot wall hanger.  Forgot to mention my project:

Not a day for Embossing!!

Drat!  I had several hours of free time and thought I would emboss some cards to color.  Well, look how awful my embossing is:

Very uneven.  I even tried adding clear embossing over a black stamped image.  That didn't work either:

Needless to say, I gave up!!  Tossed it all away!

Picked up another scrap on my desk:

This punchart was unfinished.  Basically she only had her head and shoulders.  I think she was leftover from a class I had last year.  I added arms, hands and a sign.  Popped it on a card.  Happy to at least finish ONE card!!

It's a Great Day to Do Some Crafting!!

Thankfully, Iselle spared us and it looks like Hurricane Julio is not a threat to us.  Thank goodness!!
Since most businesses were closed on Friday (in anticipation of the Double Threat of the two Hurricanes), we all had an unexpected three-day weekend!!  Hurray!!  That meant some crafting time!!

Here are a couple of cards I completed in between the normal house chores today:

July's Tea swap theme was Speech Bubbles in colors:  blue, green and yellow and here is my card.  I was very happy about it too!

Let's see:  stamp is by Stampin' Up Cheep Talk (Thank you, Colleen!!).  It is one of my favorite stamp sets.  Bubble stamp and diecut by Sizzix.  I made 3 of these cards but only one with the Bubble.  I decided to put on a bubble when the card is needed.  That way, the card can be a Thank You  or Birthday card!

See that fuzzy oval on this card?  I had two and I think it was sitting on my desk for a couple of years.  I am happy to say that they are both on a card and ready for giving!!!

Next project:  There is a pile of scraps and left over projects piled high on my desk.  My goal is to clear them off this weekend and start on the next class project which, by the way, are cards, and that class is scheduled for August 30, just three weeks away!!

Have a great one!!
