Tag Swap

Upon the suggestion of my good friend, Fran, I joined a tag swap hosted by Kyoko (see Kyoko's blog). We are making three Christmas tags each month from now until December and sharing them with a friend that Kyoko has paired us up with for each month. I loved the idea so much that I got two of my local friends to join the swap.

My partner this month is Denise (see Denise's blog). I made these tags for Denise. I hope she likes them!

I used Bazzill cardstock and Rusty Pickle paper. The green squares are cut, inked and sewn on my sewing machine. The candy canes are an older QK dies. Olive organdy ribbon is CTMH and twill printed ribbon is Making Memories (I believe).

6 cards - 2 border punches

Here are the pictures of the 6 cards we did in class, using MS border punches in different ways.

Tri-fold Card

Just playing around. What do you think? Perfect masculine card but I think I'll go back and add some background behind the dragonfly.

August Tea Swap Partner - Brenda

Check out these adorable card that I got from Brenda, my August Tea Swap Partner. When I asked her how she came up with the idea, she replied:

"Your card is made from stuff around my library desk area, including the packaging of graham gold fish crackers (after I made trail mix for the staff), an ad from a Neiman Marcus catalog, office fasteners, chipboard frame, orange ceramcoat paint, stickles, foam letters spelling SANTE in French which is a drinking toast "to health", etc. My desk is like an extension of my house w/ stash everywhere. And the card is re-giveable (sic) since I didn't write in it."

Isn't it amazing! She also gifted me with a big bag of loose tea from Bibbitea Bobbitea Brew, LLC in Mapunapuna. I'm just going to have to check this place out. Brenda, you are the bestest! Thank you!

Tea swap - NE-1?

Card by Dori
My friend, Sherri, just gave me 2 tea stamps. One of them is a quote: "Thinking of you warms my Heart . . ." That's what this tea swap is all about. Participants create a hand made card and mail it to their partner with two friendship tea bags.

Another great thing about this swap is meeting someone new with the same interest: Tea.

Today I met in person, Dori from Aiea. She has been a member of our swap for a couple of months now and it was certainly cool to have finally "met" her!!

Here is a picture of us at the Craft Elephant Garage Sale held today with another fellow swapper, Brenda. The garage sale benefited the Friends of Kalihi Palama Library. It was filled with great bargains and socializing with old and new friends:
Oh and the beautiful card above was created by Dori filled with lots of friendship tea (including one from Alaska)!!! Thank you so much, Dori, for the little thoughtful gift!!!

So if you are interested in joining our swap, drop me an email!

Tea with Mary Englebreit

Remember Mary E? Well I think this reminds me of her line. It's a gift set for my August Tea Partner, Brenda (my favorite Librarian)!!! The two tea bag holders are created matchbook cover style holding 2 teas I picked up at Honolulu Coffee Company.

The floral punch is actually a Mary E punch picked up more like 8 years or more ago and the tea pot is is by Punch Bunch.

Hope she likes these!!

PS, if you want to join a fun group of tea swapping gals, drop me an email :o)

LO Share - Go Fetch

I'm the challenge coordinator for August for my PAWS yahoogroup. Since I love sketches so much, I am doing sketch challenges. This is a layout I did using one of the sketches. Those are my little puppies and this layout is for my daughter to take to her dorm room.

Challenge #130 - LO Sketch

This week on sketchesbytamara the challenge is a layout sketch. You all know how much I love sketches so this is one of my favorite challenges. Here is the sketch:

This is what I did with the sketch. These are my buddies from the PAWS group. A few years back, Jeanne did Dallas (seriously, she had some training), so some of us Texas girls took her out on the town. It was a fun weekend which I'll treasure (even with that car ride provided courtesy of Jeanne).

Let's see what you do with this sketch!

Ukelele Thank you

My son won a Kamaka Concert Uke at the Ukelele Festival a couple of weeks ago. How cool is that??!!! He was so thrilled and has enthusiastically been playing on the new one. I created this thank you to Mr. Sakuma and Mr. Kamaka. Wish I had a Mahalo stamp or diecut but that's okay. I wrote a big "Mahalo" on the other card.

Stencil by A Place in Time, embossing powder, various inks, raffia, button from stash, QK Diecut, paper by Island Heritage (I think).

Thank you for stopping by!!
