No class in October

Unfortunately, we won't have a class in October, either.  We are all waiting for Hawaii to get to Stage 3 of the Mayor's Economic Reopening which will allow us to have at least 10 people in class.  Hopefully, we will have class in November or even one in December.  We will see so please stay tuned.

Merry Christmas!

Sorry for the bad photo.  This looked better on my phone.  You might recognize the style as I did a halloween and birthday card with washi tape this fall.   I love washi tape!    Own a ton of it and really use it (unlike a lot of other supplies I've collected).   Cardstock, ink, stamp-CTMH, Punches & bling-SU, Washi tape - assorted brands.

Poinsettia box

I just was a member of a 3-D object swap.  I had never done this type of swap but love the little boxes that I have received from friends.   This is my entry.   I made the poinsettia from a die from My Favorite Things (mftstamps.com) and the box die is from Stampin' Up.

From the Kitchen Of - Recipe card

My mom's Stamping Up (SU) group is doing a Recipe Card swap. Since I hadn't participated in any swaps for a while, I decided to join.

I created 15 cards right away before the swap closed. Alas, when the swap closed, I discovered I had to create 34 cards!!! OMG!!!! <>!!!


Well, I just finished them all last night (TG!). I used From the Kitchen Of stamp by SU. I used my new favorite and quick Corn and Edamame Salad.

More Christmas tags for Kyoko's tag swap. These are going to Myra from Kailua (hey, in my neighborhood!). Doesn't he look .... dreamy! Love those bedroom eyes (LOL!). This Santa came together rather quickly. It just took a LONG time getting my thoughts onto paper. Hope she likes them!!

An image, a stamped image . . .

For our next Scrapbook Club meeting, we are having a stamped image swap. Here's what's involved. We stamp and/or emboss our stamps on a plain piece of cardstock and swap these out. Above is an example above which I got from my friend Sherri.

I love it when the image is already embossed because that's just not my forte. Well, taking the image, I color and create a card. Wa-laaa,

. . . a Birthday Card!

This type of swap is a great idea for getting more for those stamps that are collecting dust (you know we have LOTS of them!) and "transforming" them into new ones.

My Christmas tags

This is for Kyoko's tag swap. I made three of these for my partner this month, Jodi Lee. Hope she likes them. I can't wait to see what she came up with.

Swap card share

This is my swap card for my 3x3 Christmas swap that is due early next month. All products are CTMH except the googly eyes. Used Nestabilities for the circles/scalloped circles and an old QK die for the reindeer.

Christmas Tags

Another month and another set of tags for Kyoko's Christmas Tag Swap. I didn't follow directions :o( {sorry, K}. Instead of making 3 identical tags, I created 3 different tags. I hope Tia Iida from Kaneohe doesn't mind. They turned out surprisingly cute. I had no idea what the finished project would look like but I'm quite happy with the results. What do you think?

3 x 3 Christmas Card

Karen hosted another 3 x 3 Christmas Theme swap and I just finished my cards, actually stayed up to 2 a.m. to finish it since I have several projects I need to get done, hopefully before the weekend ends.

The paper is CTMH (Thank you, DeAnna!), BG buttens, tree punch that I ran through Cutterbug embossing folder and added gold wiring around. Ribbon I have had for years, don't know what brand. The label is a Nesti and on some of the cards I machine stitched w/thread and then some I didn't since the little PC sewing machine was giving me problems. Yes, I still have that little $10 machine from years gone by. Great for little things that scream for stitching at 3:30a in the morning!! Star brad, word stamp by Hero Arts, and Tim Holtz Coffee stain ink around all the edges.
The inside I used RF Flourish stamps with Versamark and then went over with light green chalk since I wanted a soft look.

Tag Swap

Upon the suggestion of my good friend, Fran, I joined a tag swap hosted by Kyoko (see Kyoko's blog). We are making three Christmas tags each month from now until December and sharing them with a friend that Kyoko has paired us up with for each month. I loved the idea so much that I got two of my local friends to join the swap.

My partner this month is Denise (see Denise's blog). I made these tags for Denise. I hope she likes them!

I used Bazzill cardstock and Rusty Pickle paper. The green squares are cut, inked and sewn on my sewing machine. The candy canes are an older QK dies. Olive organdy ribbon is CTMH and twill printed ribbon is Making Memories (I believe).

August Tea Swap Partner - Brenda

Check out these adorable card that I got from Brenda, my August Tea Swap Partner. When I asked her how she came up with the idea, she replied:

"Your card is made from stuff around my library desk area, including the packaging of graham gold fish crackers (after I made trail mix for the staff), an ad from a Neiman Marcus catalog, office fasteners, chipboard frame, orange ceramcoat paint, stickles, foam letters spelling SANTE in French which is a drinking toast "to health", etc. My desk is like an extension of my house w/ stash everywhere. And the card is re-giveable (sic) since I didn't write in it."

Isn't it amazing! She also gifted me with a big bag of loose tea from Bibbitea Bobbitea Brew, LLC in Mapunapuna. I'm just going to have to check this place out. Brenda, you are the bestest! Thank you!
