Create from the heart: Coasters

You all have seen these photo frame coasters. I always buy a couple and stash them away for emergency omiyage (little favor) gifts.

This afternoon I'm meeting some of my tea swap gals for afternoon tea.

Embossed mini tag (3x embossed), gold wire and star brad.

A little stamp in the middle of this photo coaster, a box of Hawn Flavored tea, and a Big Island Candy Krisp bar!

All wrapped up very nicely.

Easel calendar

I received a similar calendar in a swap last year and loved it so much I decided to recreate the calendar for my friends. So far, I've made 10 for book club, half dozen for work friends and a few more for other friends. I've been way busy this fall with trial and totally slacking in posting my artwork (mainly b/c I didn't do any artwork from August to November. Thanks, Fran, for holding up the blog!

This is a calendar that I did for a dear friend who loves aligators. I couldn't find much in the way of aligator embellishments but I did finally find this paper (looks kinda gator-y and this charm). Merry Christmas, Linda!

And this is the close-up of the little gator charm.

I had a lot of fun making these calendars! I will posting more as I get to spend some quality time with my home computer!

Create from the Heart:

Several months ago I bought these water bottles at Ross', knowing exactly what I wanted to do with them. There were only 5 on the shelf.

Several months later, I gifted them up and made matching tags and cards.

Added a topper and made a couple of great gifts!

Gingerbread men

These totally cute gingerbread men were created by my October Christmas Tag Swap partner, Myra, from Kailua. I saw the die at Ben Franklin but after seeing these cute guys, mmm, I may take a second look! Love them, Myra, as well as all the extra goodies which you spoiled me with :o)

Here is a picture of the other side of the gingerbread men:
Totally cute!!! Thank you, Myra!

Gift For Amy

I recently bought a new can opener after seeing on someone's blog (I'm sorry, I can't remember whom) that she regifted and recycled her can goods. This is the type of can opener that unseals the glued top so there are no sharp edges. I think my original can was from Libby's Pumpkin. After washing it out cleanly, I put a gift inside, reglued the edges. Turned it upside down and decorated the can. I thought I'd use my new Sizzix Die for the flowers.

Ok, I know I should have made more flowers but I finished this at 12 midnight which left me only 4 hours of sleep until I had to get up for work! It fit nicely in a P. O. box and off to Chicago it went. Sweet 14, I know my niece will love this little gift!!

No Peeking!!

Just finished these 6 tags for Leanne in Los Angeles. She is my November/December Christmas Tag Swap partner that Kyoko hosted. I have never used my QK Vixin Raindeer die so thought I would use it for my first set of tags.

Then, using the same raindeer hat, I paper pieced a little elf tag and printed the sentiment on computer.

Daisy Clipboard & Babes-In-A-Tin

Well, it's another week and survival of another craft fair ;o) My parents have participated in the Season's Best Craft Fair for 24 years, since it's inception! Anyway, we were very successful. All the memo boards sold and by Sunday, our booth looked pretty sparse.

Remember the Ladybug clipboard I created? Well, the same gal picked up this memo board.

Here's a picture of our Family Affaire booth filled with modge podge of items.
and, for those who wondered, here's what my Babes in a Tin looks like. It's a baby chipboard book packaged in a tin. The chipboard album looks wonderful in Baby's room or on the door.

Just thought I'd add this one, one I created for my niece 2 years ago. Her picture is on the top and the bottom of the album. Also the reverse holds 6 photos.
Two more craft fairs to go: Lanikai and Castle HS both this weekend. It was wonderful to see friends and family stopping by the booth.

More memo boards. I really love this one. The insides of the flowers are embossed and blinged.

Here's a close up of the flowers

And Sunflowers. This one sold quickly. Well, just woke up and time to leave back to the fair.
Hope you enjoyed your Black Friday shopping!

MIA - Craft Fair Season

Yes, I've been MIA, working frantically for this Season's Best Craft Fair this week Friday (Black Friday), Saturday and Sunday at the NBC. Of course we procrastinated until the last minute to make our wares.

But anyway, here is one of the 12x12 bulletin boards I just finished. It's a magnetic and cork board I just decorated with 3-d flowers.

The second shot is a close up of the embossed centers for these flowers.

I'm having so much fun with them. It's almost like scrapbooking a layout!!

Well, I've got 6 more to go as well as some clipboards to decorate....

So far I've completed desk calendars and Babes in a Tin. More pictures will be posted.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Ho! Ho! Ho! - The Video

You asked for it, you got it!

Since there were so many who requested instructions on my Santa tags, I finally did it . . . I finally created a video BUT (and it's a BIG BUT!), I created it in two separate videos (didn't know how to pause the camera). LOL! Please pardon my VERY beginner attempts and enjoy!

Please comment and let me know what you think!!!!

Here's all the pieces for the Santa tag:

I used a sizzix tag but any die cut tag will do. One tag in flesh, 2 tags in red (2 pieces of hat), 1 tag in white (top part for hat and bottom half for beard). Cut as indicated in the picture. 1 strip of black (approx 3/4" in width); 1 cloud punch in white; 2 ea 3/4" circle in white (eyes); 1 ea 3/4" circle in flesh (nose); 1 ea 1" circle in white (cut in half for mustache); 2 ea 1/2" circle in black (eyeballs); 1 ea 1/2" circle in red (mouth).

As I viewed it back, I had to laugh at myself. So, so beginner!! Thanks for viewing and have a great day!!

I'll work on a Mrs. Santa video next.

Third try and very pleased.
