"For the Love of Tea"

The tea swap theme for this month is "For the Love of Tea" and here's my interpretation:

By now, my dear partner, Brenda, will have received her card and I can share it with you.
I went  back to my roots with a paperpieced, pen stitched teapot card and tea holder.  Sorry, I neglected to take a picture inside of the holder but it holds 2 tea bags and some daisy embellishments.
The pattern for this card is from papercraft inspirations.  I thought I'd use the metals since they have been in my stash like forever!  Daisy flower punch, sun punch, rhinestones, free-hand heart, MM metal leaves and MM metal frame.  Unknown brand stamp and stickles.
A picture of the inside of the card.
Fun and different!!

Wedding/Bridal Shower Card

Remember the shower favors I made last week?  Here is the matching wedding/bridal shower card I made.

I created this card before, but just changed up the colors and added pearls to the dress.  The original idea came from Lynn Pratt at stampndesign.  Such a beautiful design and easy to make!!

Swap Card Share

I did this card for a local swap group that I am in for January. Theme was "Thank You." I drew my inspiration from a similar card on Pinterest.
Paper, stamp, ink and pearls are all CTMH. Butterfly punches are Martha Stewart.. Hexagon die is by Sizzix. Enjoy!

LO Share - 2007

Yes, I have been terrible about finishing up both of my kids senior photos.  I think I got too many (is that possible)?   This is my DS.   I love using flowers on his layouts (when it works).
Paper is Crate Paper.   Enjoy!

LO Share - Grad 2010

I finally am getting around to posting some layouts that I've done recently. This is one of my DD's grad photos. I struggled with this layout as I kept wanting to put pretty patterned paper that just did not work with the books background of the photo. So I finally decided to go black/white and I'm happy with the results. Thanks to my friend, Kristin F, for the dollie, fresh from Red Snapper restaurant in Surfside, Texas.   Thanks to my other friend, Angie B. for the cool frame she cut for me!

Card Contest

At the Scraptabulous crop I attended on Saturday, they had a card contest where they dumped a bunch of supplies the leaders had from workshops or scraps.   The participants were to make a card just from those supplies.  We could use our own stamps or punches, but we couldn't add anything - paper, embellishments, etc.     Below is my card.   I won the contest!  Yeah!
If you are in the Houston area, go to this blog for more info about the Scraptabulous Crops.  Enjoy!   Karen

Petal Cone Die Bridal Gown Favor

I've been working on wedding shower favors.  The idea originally came from Pinterest but it didn't have a link to give credit to.  I have since google searched and discovered the idea came from the talented Lisa Young here.  She gave a tutorial on it; check it out!

I used the SU Petal Cone die (another project completed with this die!!!), Cutterbug Textile embossing folder, white sheer ribbon, Sizzix circle die, Nestibility Heart, Daisy D Congratulations stamp, Minipetals McGill Punch and pearl beads.

We stuffed the favors with Silver Hershey Chocolate Kisses and the Turquoise Hershey Cookies & Creme flavored Kisses.  Here are the 40 favors all completed and waiting for the event.

It's here, It's here, it's FINALLY Here!!!

I've waited for almost a year for this baby!!! I've been looking around for soooo long, patiently looking for the best deal!  AND WHY oh why is shipping to Hawaii so expensive? Can't it fit in a flat rate box!!!

I've done the research for at least a year....  Want to know what the best paper trimmer for all around paper crafting!!!???

It's the Rotatrim Mastercut Professional rotary trimmer, baby!!  And Amazon FINALLY got it in stock.  I couldn't believe my luck when they FINALLY got it in!  I've scrimped and saved and patiently (or should I say impatiently) waited for the best deal!!  Just as I was going to pay the eventual expensive shipping cost, Amazon got it in!!!!  Why get the Chevy when you can get the Porsche, right?  Shipping to Hawaii would have cost me at least $68.00.  It came with free shipping!  Amazon is DA BEST!!!
Here it is all set up for cutting all the mini album kits, just in time!!  Now I no longer have to hear Byron say . ". . tsk, tsk, tsk.  Soooo crooked!!"  :o)  Check out the reviews.  Of course, mine is only a 12" because that's all I could fit on the table.  That I'm still as happy as can be.  I'm still on cloud nine and can't believe I've finally got mine!!!

Aviary Thank You Cards

Stamping Up's Aviary stamp set  is one of those sets that I just had to have when I first saw it.
Decided they would make cute thank you cards:

I bought a spool of this cool Diamond Ribbon at the trade show earlier this year and added them on the cards.  Ben Franklin also carries them.

The foam flower is cut from a QK die and the leaves are from the 3-leaf thumb punch.

 Another blue set.

Coral set.

 and a pink set.

This one I was playing around to see what it would look like with an embossed background.

and the inside of the card.  I made about a dozen pretty fast.  Now to journal and send out my thank you's!

Thank YOU for stopping by!
