Halloween Box Card

Remember the Box card Josie made for me last month? Well, I decided to make one for my tea swap partner Annie in Denmark. October's tea swap theme is Halloween or the colors purple/black/orange.

I used Imaginesce paper, rats border punch by Martha Stewart, Basic Grey Rubon, Border punch by Stampin' Up and Martha Stewart.
So, do you want to make one of your own? I recommend Arlene's video here. I thought it was the best one out there. Her technique requires no adhesive, just a bunch of origami folding.

Here is the card I made which fits nicely inside the box.

I believe Arlene's beautiful box card measures 4 x 4. My finished box measured 3-1/4 x 3-1/4, measured up from Josie's 3 x 3 box to fit the tea bags I was sending.

The measurements I used to create my box are:

Base: 6 1/4 x 9 1/4
Landscape side: score 1-3/8" and 3" from both ends
Portrait side: score 1-1/2" from both ends.
Then follow folding instructions from Arlene's video.

Happy creating!

Sizzix Gingerbread man

This was my first opportunity to use this die, after getting it several months ago. A breeze to create, I'm using him as my Shoebox swap this month. The kits are all made up and ready to go. I didn't want a eyelet on his forehead to stick the ribbon on so I modified by adding another piece in the back of his head in which the ribbon is attached through an eyelet.

Baby Applique Tags

Found this applique on my desk a couple of days ago. I have no idea why I purchased them, maybe to put on on the boys' hats . . . or maybe I couldn't resist paying the price for these little cuties . . .Anyway, as soon as I saw them, I thought they would make adorable baby tags since I have 3 baby boy gifts to make:

Basic Grey paper, kraft paper, welcome baby stamps by CTMH, and BG buttons.

Too bad I didn't have more appliques to play with :o)

Birthday - slide mounts

Here's another 3 x 3 using slide mounts. The cupcakes are left over stickers from a layout I did years ago. There were just two left (so glad I finally used it up!!!). The paper for the slides was in my scrap bin; and the birthday rubons are from a time when I was a TLC Consultant. Wow, these came together so fast!!

Frame it with slide mounts

Found a bunch of slide mounts in my stash the other day. At one time they were very popular on scrapbook pages (remember shaker box embellishments?). Then everyone was getting rid of them so I picked up about 20 or so almost free. Figure I might as well use them so here's what I came up with. 3 x3 cards. If I need a quick card for a thank you, all I have to do is stamp "Thank You" on the frame. For birthday, I'll stamp "Happy Birthday" on the frame. Very versatile, don'tcha think?

Holoholo cards ----

This past Friday, 3 gals played huki (sp?) Since I don't know how to spell it, how about...holo holo . . . I know that word well! Mom would always holoholo with us 4 kids after she picked us up from school and we wouldn't come home until dark. I'm sure dad must have worried about us. When she finally found a phone to use (around 7p or so), she would ask him if he wanted dinner which, he had already made for himself!

The plan was to have a get-together and each of us had to create a project that we would teach to the others. It took a year of scheduling but we finally had our day out!!

The card above is from Bep's "card class."

Here's the second card we made and I just LOVE, love, absolutely love this card design! The simplicity just appeals to me. One layer, one stamp, kraft paper and coloring with copics.

We used products from Papertrey (love that company!!)

We were going to create another card but, unfortunately, the die got stuck in the Big Shot and .... I broke the handle. It was given to dad yesterday. He is the jack of all trades and I know he can fix it with his gentle touch . . . crossing my fingers!!!!
