I have another SCS card to post. This card was designed by Shelley (shellsgr09 on SCS). What a beautiful stamp and I love her little bits of embellishing. She had an insider for us to do also.
I put another SCS card on my personal blog so be sure to go check out my-crazy-never-still-life.

More SBS cards
Finally, I'm remember to post more of the cards from SBS (I was gently nudged by a sweet friend). So here they are:
By Melissa -- I love this SU stamp set!
By Sabrina - I love these little tea cups and the wire "steam" is too cute!
By Tiffany (tdstamps on SCS). Another SU favorite. Love the eyelet border.

Flower card class
Tea Party - Ladies Day out!
Today I was invited to tea at A Cup of Tea in Kailua. I just finished these favors for the ladies which I started last nite. The first drawer holds 2 tea bags of Lupicia Hawaii (my favorite current brand) and the second drawer holds some Hersey bars. I also created little Hersey bar purses to complete the theme I wanted to project: Ladies Day Out. Looks rather cute, huh! I used the SU Matchbox die for the drawers.

Wedding Blessing
My middle sister is getting married today and here is the wedding card I made for her. It uses a Dalia technique for the flower buds and some computer font. I think the pattern paper I used for the flowers doesn't really work her. It's a very different type of wedding card but knowing how artsy, fartsy she is, she will appreciate it.

More Houston SBS cards
Keep your ears tuned as Elizabeth and I have started thinking about our next Houston SBS. We are participating in a few local swaps and I've got my time full with riding. Now, for more Houston Shoebox Swap Cards (from the March event)! This card was designed by Kristin (missymoomoo from SCS). It was just gorgeous! Loved the papers and the border punching. The center of the flower are black pompons. How cute!
Another beautiful card with beautiful papers -- this time designed by Renee (ReneeOdom on SCS). She embossed and hand cut all of those fleur de lis out for us!
And, finally (for this post) is a card by Robin (robth on SCS). I loved that these stamps fit perfectly with the punches (ala Stampin Up). Wish CTMH did that! Cute card!
Go check out my other blog (my-crazy-never-still-life) as I am posting different cards from the Houston SBS there!

Cards from Houston SBS
Hi, ladies! I am posting some of the cards designed for the Houston SBS hosted by yours truly (me) and my friend, Elizabeth. Note - I didn't design these cards!
This card was designed by Anita (Chosen Creations on SCS). I just love her layering and her piecing of the cross. Beautiful! And, yes, I ran out out bought the slot punch after the event.
The next card was designed by Lynn (confessionsofaleft-brainedstamper). She is a designer for Kitchen Sink Stamps which I LOVE! The layering on the stamps is amazing. I love, love this cuttlebug embossing plate!
And finally (for today), the card was designed by Paula (threedogsday on SCS). The paper piecing was amazing and she cut all of it out for all 24 of her kits! And it was all perfect! Amazingly talented!
Amazing work, ladies! I've post three other fabulous cards on my personal blog - my-crazy-never-still-life. so go check them out! And subscribe to me please. I need more followers!

Card Sketch Challenge
Once again, I'm doing a double post on my personal blog (my-crazy-never-still-life). I try to post different artwork on that blog as this blog so you will have something new to look at. This week, I'm short on time so you get the double post. I would love to have additional subscribers on my personal blog so be sure to click for email updates.
This week is the card sketch challenge over at sketchesbytamara. Following is the sketch, the DT had to work with:
Attached is my entry. Papers and ink are by CTMH and flowers by Prima. The stamp is an ancient wood block stamp I've had (brand unknown). The vine ribbon was a gift from a PAWS friend. The flower centers are Dew Drops by Robin's Nest. And the staples are from the Tim Holtz mini-attacher given to me by my good friend, Brenda (Thank you Brenda!). Enjoy!

Cheerful daisies --
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
This is the card that I did for the Houston Shoe Box Swap. I was greatly inspired by a blog post but I can't for the life of me find that blog now. If you did something similar, please email me so I can give you proper credit.
I did make some changes to make it my own. I used CTMH cardstock in Khaki and Chocolate and a;; CTMH stamps. I stamped the background with the words from Air Mail set (retired) and then smudged ink on the edges and across the face. The medalions were from the Alfresco stamp set and the Thank You from Say It With Style. I distressed the chocolate cardstock with an edge distresser. The "brads" are actually upolstry tacks purchased and Home Depot and I snipped the long tack portion. They are held on with a dab of liquid glue. Chocolate grosgrain - Michaels and floss is from DMC.

Tea Cup card - redux The Tea Pot Stencil
Remember the tea pot stencil I received for my birthday? Well, here it is again, only I changed it to funky tea cup in a VERY simple card which went to my tea swap partner, Becky in Indiana.
I was going to cut the slit on the lip of the cup and put a tea bag sticking out from there but it slipped my mind and I mailed it out to her yesterday. Shucks! Guess I'll have to do this card again. Oh well.

Wiper Card
Pull the sides out and a bee tab pops out. Cute idea, huh! The white space on the right is for the greetings, sentiments. This card is being sent to a gal who lives in Japan. She has cancer and by the time this card gets to her, she will be recuperating from surgery, a successful one, we hope! Hopefully, this card will cheer her spirits.
Thank you for the inspiration, Gail!

The sketches by tamara Challenge this week is a Layout Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch:
Although I was initially daunted (I have problems with the film strip concept), I came to love the way my layout pulled together.
I got this paper pack from my trip to Scrapbook Etc in 2008. The flowers are stickers in the same paper pack that were matted and popped. Bling is from prima and pearls are Canson. Stamp (date) is CTMH.
Use this sketch to make your own layout. Now go check out the other cool submissions by the rest of the Design Team at Sketches by tamara. And don’t forget, we are on facebook with more challenges!
