It's all about the presentation . . .
I meant to add this photo to yesterday's post but it had already gone out. This is the flower tape dispenser all wrapped up. There are a couple of things I wanted to mention:
The wrapping paper, I just LOVE it! Found it at Ross. 40 Square Feet of 100% recycled Kraft wrapping paper for just $2.99! I also found one that had pink bicycles on it. The price was just too good to pass up.
Secondly, this is for the gal that loves owls. I found an owl key chain to add to my gift.
A long time ago as we were making altered paint cans, our leader and teacher that day said that any gift can look fabulous (so true), "It's all about the presentation."

Another Tape Dispenser Gift
Here is a gift for a friend I just finished.
She likes owls so here is her birthday card. I believe the image is from AI.
Oh, and I saw this Scotch Brand Flower tape dispenser at Fisher the other week. Like the Shoe Tape Dispenser I altered earlier, this one needed some "small kine touch up", but not as much blings....
I added one bling in the middle of the flower and painted tri-dots on the vase. A sheer ribbon finished the look.
Wow, that was quick and fun. I've off to creating something else . . . . Have a Great Week!

Hawaiian Cards - Sneak Peak #5
I apologize for the late Sneak Peak #5. It's been a tough week at the other job, staying late to finish up things. Anyway, here's Sneak Peak #5, using APT's stencil called Monstera #2. In real life, this looks like a water color painting. It's pretty cool, I think :o)
Anyway, class is scheduled for tomorrow. I neglected to mention that we will get a little bit dirty so if you do not want your fingers stained (like mine is at the moment), please bring a pair of cheap gloves.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Hawaiian Cards - Sneak peek #4
Sneak Peek #4 is a Hawaiian Paddler Petroglyph. All the stencils for this class have been made by A Place in Time. We have one more card to complete the class samples for Saturday's class. There are still seats available so if you are interested in attending, please email me or contact Bill at A Place in Time.
So, this is not blog or class related, but I wanted to share something that has been on my mind since I read an article a couple weeks ago. It's about a homeless family. They weren't always homeless and have 3 little children. One of their children developed an medical condition. The medical expenses used up all their money, all their savings. They lost their job, lost their home but they stayed together. They lived in a van for several years however, they took care of their children, made sure they went to school. The story ended on a happy note. They family was able to get back on their feet again with the help of an organization. Homelessness could happen to me. It could happen to you. It could happen to anyone given the right circumstances. It could happen in a blink of an eye! We have a lot to be thankful for. I have a lot to be thankful for: A room over my head, good health, a good job, a strong and healthy family.. oh and a hobby that has lasted me for 18 years!!
I was going to delete this last paragraph but, oh well . . . .
Special blessings be upon you...

Hawaiian cards - Sneak Peak #2
Here's a humuhumunukunukuapua'a card to share with you today. This is the State Fish and, although much more vibrant in real life, I rather like this subdued version. This is Sneak Peak #2 of the Hawaiian Cards class scheduled for Saturday. I'll show you a couple more sneak peaks before I include the supplies list.
Hope to see you there!!

Card from April's Tea Swap
I wanted to share this beautiful card that Jayne created for Colleen in our April's Tea Swap. The optional color theme was Black and any complementary color. She used red, black and red.
I think that the card Jayne created for Colleen is absolutely amazing!!
We have a tea swap every month in which two tea bags and a hand made card are required to send to a partner. It's fun and easily manageable. Plus, you get to meet new crafting, tea friends! Some of our swappers have been with us since the tea swap started -- I think it was 2011. Did I mention that once a month you will get FUN MAIL??!! So if you are interested in joining us, drop me a line!

Crafty Goodness
A week ago I took my son to Lego Land. It was his first time. If you have gone there, you will see employees wearing name tags similar to this:
My son wanted one. Apparently the company provides the name tags for the employees; they don't sell them. "Sherry" graciously offered tips for me to create one just like it.
This was quick! My son created the badge platform and I just finished it up. Now the last thing for me to do is to purchase a clear tape for my label maker, print out his name, and add it his badge.
Here's the back of his tag. I put too much hot glue but at least the pin won't come off!!
Have a great week!

Here's another project I created this weekend. Needed to create a quick birthday gift for a friend.
Here is the gift. Do you see any possibilities???
The tape dispenser is made by Scotch brand and I picked it up at Fisher.
First, let's add some bling and then I think it needs a little bow:
Have a great week!

Black and White (from Colleen)
Here are the goodies I received from my May Partner, Colleen.
Love the card!! The Stamp is from Stampin Up called Million and One. I am not sure what paper line she used but I just love it!
Along with the card, I received some delicious cookies and a bag full of tea, I almost forgot:
The coordinating ribbon. Thanks, my friend, for a great swap!!!
I also met with her last week. Here is a picture of us together:
Check out the awesome omiyagi gift I received from Colleen:
She made the adorable tag, gave me a Hanko stamp, a sakura paper punch and my favorite, rolls of Washi Fabric tape!!
I've been blessed with having a special friend!
By the way, last week I went on a vacation with my sister and her family. When asked how one of the rides at the amusement park was, I said, "TOTALLY AWESOME!!" My 10 year old niece said, "Aunty Fran, please do not say that. It's N-O-T cool!!". OMG, I'm getting o-l-d!!! LOL!
Thank you for stopping by!

"Words", black, white and a little something extra
We still have the tea swap every month if any of you are interested in joining us. May's theme was called "WORDS". The colors were black and white and a little something extra.
I knew I wanted to use Stamping Up's Hello You thinlits. So I first printed on the computer "A Million and One" over and over. Then cut it up to 3 3/4 x 5" both in landscape and portrait. I used the landscape to make the card.
With the portrait printout, I made a little bag to hold the two tea bags. The elephant diecut was cut out free hand. I added a strip of the yellow paper onto the binder clip and added yellow gingham ribbon. This went to my partner Colleen. I'll show you what she made for me tomorrow.

Graduation with Sister Stamps
Hi, All! I'm back from vacation and many projects to complete.
I have several black envelopes left over from the I Dig Dinosaurs class several months ago. So all I did was
color the Sister Stamps Graduate with Copics. Add scallop mats and popped the image up over a band.

The only thing that took a while here was the copic coloring
Congrats sentiment by Sizzix.
I have discovered that I should keep black envelopes in my stash!
