She is her mother's daughter
Just finished this layout yesterday. This line is called Twinkling Inks and it is beautiful! It's just hard to find the right picture that goes with the different shades of purple. Here's the story behind the layout:
I come from a family of artsy, fartsy women. My mom can pick up any type of arts and crafts and does a wonderful job. She still water and oil paints, creates tapa ceramics and anything else that interests her, but she never sticks to one craft. My middle sister majored in Graphic Arts. She is now into sketching on Hau Leaves (you gotta see it, it's beautiful!) and other tiny beadwork. My youngest sister has the most beautiful handwriting and creates & sells lots of beautiful girly things at the craft fairs. I used to tell everyone that I had not inherited any of their skills. I'm like my dad, an accountant, Very sensible, reliable, conservative.... that is, until I met my passion, my nitch . . . scrapbooking and other paper crafts. Now, I AM my mother's daughter!
My Book About Me is 8.5 x 11 so that's why this layout is the size it is.
TFL and have a wonderful scrapbooking Sunday!

Tea Time!!
Here is my little tea book for my Tea Swap Partner Jennifer Bliss from PA. I finally went to the Lupicia Tea store at Ala Moana. Now that is tea heaven! Bought a bag of flavored Hawaiian Tea called Lokelani and Malama (mmmm!!) and sent it off in a handmade tea bag holder which I found at SCS here. Tea buttons I had bought several years ago! I also send a bag of cherry blossom tea a friend brought back from Japan. Here is what the inside of the book looks like. Good huh?
And then yesterday I got my tea from Melani Julian in MA! She sent Earl Grey Blue and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Today I tried the Earl Grey and it was smooth and delicious! Love the flavor of that tea! Tomorrow will try the other one. Thank you, Melanie!!
Thanks for stopping by! Remember, if you want to join in our tea swap, go to blissfulplace.

Using up the last of my American Crafts kit from TSR. I love their kits and have been a member for almost 4 years. Check them out! The members there are all GREAT and Friendly. Many have been on board forever! I know the owner of TSR, Tammy, since my 2 Pea days, 7 or 8 years ago! In fact, it was on 2 peas, during that save time, when I met Karen :)

Being a mother
Another layout using Heidi Swapp Moody line! I have always loved creating my own embellishments. Gives me a sense of... well, that this layout is all my own, one of a kind, kwim? I have a little bit more paper left over and know exactly what design layout I will do, just have to find a picture and need some time. So stay tuned! I also have a finished teacher gift coming up.
Thanks for stopping by!

Teija
I'm up for a LOAD challenge at TSR this month. Here's my first one of the month. Wish me luck!!
This is Teija, my niece at 2 months. Looks like Tiana, huh. Again using the Heidi Swapp Moody line. I've still got another full sheet from this line and lots of chipboard. Mmm. Wonder what I'll create next.
